Angela Hicks is a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with a B.A. in Art and a Minor in Interdisciplinary Studies. Since 2008 she has dedicated her time to the Center for Arts of Bonita Springs as an instructor, volunteer, and previous Youth Education Director. Currently she teaches ballet, jazz, hip-hop, pointe, cultural dance, theater and visual art. She's trained with professionals such as Ryan Heffington (Choreographer for Sia's Elastic Heart and Chandelier), Derek Mitchell (Choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance), and Dana Moore (Broadway star in Fosse, Chicago, Sweet Charity, and A Chorus Line). As a contemporary dancer and sharp sword balancer she has been featured at local art festivals, national conventions, and performed for HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco for the Art of The Olympians Welcoming Ceremony in 2011. Her sword dance is a dangerous act with a powerful message about overcoming fears and balance of mind, body and soul. She has a passion for inspiring people and helping her students express and develop their natural talents.
